If you’re reading this, you’re probably familiar with the City of Orillia. Also known as the Sunshine City, it’s home to 31,000 people and is located in the heart of Ontario’s lake country on the shores of Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe. It’s a beautiful place where people love to live and tourists love to visit.
It’s also a growing city. As the population of Orillia increases, the city is hard at work on an exciting and visionary new waterfront redevelopment plan. The waterfront redevelopment was designed to breathe new life into Orillia’s downtown and waterfront, revitalizing the city’s downtown core and linking it to the waterfront.
We’re thrilled to be part of this redevelopment, which is set to enhance the City of Orillia’s character and to make the city more connected and vibrant than ever before. It’s #fresh to say the least!
The city has invested heavily in this new project, and has a grand vision for the waterfront. Read on to learn more…
After years of analysis, development planning and environmental due diligence, the waterfront redevelopment project is underway. And we couldn’t be more excited!
The redevelopment will result in new residents, new stores and services, and new job opportunities in the downtown core. The local economy will get a boost, and residents and visitors alike will get to enjoy the new public square and the livelier-than-ever downtown.
The waterfront will be transformed, too. The redevelopment includes the extension of Coldwater Street to Centennial Drive, extending the existing retail environment to the waterfront and improving the connection between the downtown and the waterfront. The beauty of Orillia's Lake Couchiching waterfront will be given more prominence and will present a welcoming face to visitors arriving at the Port of Orillia.
New residences will also appear along the waterfront, providing residents with lakeshore access and the boardwalk, beaches and marinas all within easy walking distance.
Fresh Towns will be just south (to the right, at 144 Elgin St.) of the homes shown in this image:

Fresh Towns’ new waterside rooftop terrace townhomes will be a vital part of the reshaping of the waterfront, and will present incredible opportunities for new homeowners and investors. Whether you’re downsizing, an empty nester, a family, or a young couple who loves the City of Orillia’s lively summer scene with its swimming, boating and fishing, Fresh Towns will offer contemporary designs, a carefree, low-maintenance and relaxed lifestyle in a picturesque location, and more free time to enjoy the outdoors and all that Orillia has to offer.
